I’ve heard of them but more so Minolta. They were/are know for their old 35mm film SLR cameras. Which one are you looking at?

But to help you find the right camera what are you looking to do in photography and how much is your budget for it? I think if you want to future proof your investment then going with a Canon or a Nikon will untimely be your best choice.. Unless you are looking to be in the 35mm film format.
