Yeah! I do use picture styles for video :)
When it comes to anything that I am going to use for a short film or a professional project then lately I have been using Technicolor CineStyle. If it is a project that I am doing for fun or something that I’m not going to spend a lot of time in post production, like my vlogs, than I shoot those in just Canon Standard.
The reason for this is that when it’s a project that I know I am going to need to color correct or color grade, depending on the scheme, I want to have the most latitude in contrast/color possible. Which basically means the range from most light to most dark is very wide. What CineStyle prides is just that. You read more about CineStyle here (you can also download it from there too). And then for other projects that I want to finish quickly or know that I’m not going to need or want to alter in post then I’ll shoot standard since I’ll mostly likely use the image that I stage for.

I think it really comes down to how much flexibility you are going to want with the footage in post production.
